Guide to writing a philosophy paper:

 

Structure

 

1.  State the problem or topic to be discussed.

2.  State your thesis, i.e. the position you intend to defend.

3.  Next, carefully explain how the problem arises, and what solutions are available.

4.  Critically evaluate the argument or solution.  Defend your position.

5.  Conclusion: sum up what you have shown.  Point to other possible developments or problems not already addressed.
