I sometimes use different explanations/techniques but the videos could be a substitute or complement to reading ahead the corresponding sections from the textbook. You could give them a try.

One which is free, pretty good and easy to use is geogebra (it even has a downloadable app to smart phones). You could also use (the free part) of wolframalpha.com . For this one, the 3D drawing command is plot3d( ... ). Try to avoid relying exclusively on such softwares.You'll still need to be able to draw on your own basic 3d objects.
