Quiz on Tuesday,
Oct. 17 covers sections 13.1, 13.2, 13.3. Here is a link for GeoGebra, a software you can use for 3D graphs. I have the GeoGebra Classic, version 5 on my computer. Version 6 (for which there are apps as well) should be at least as good. To start the 3D capability, choose 3D Graphics, from the main menu, then input the function or equation you'd like to graph. It is possible to zoom in, zoom out, rotate graphs (use last icon on top), find intersections, etc. I still want you to recognize graphs of basic functions without the help of software.

New! One question on Exam 2 will be chosen from the following
theoretical topics: Theorem 13.5.3, Theorem 13.6.3 (plus formulae (10), (11), page 963), Theorem 13.6.5, Theorem 13.6.6. I may also choose one of the starred exercises from your suggested hwk as an exam question. This is the Exam 2 given in Spring 2012 You can find older exams here (see the row corresponging to Mar. 27)

The final will cover quite well the sections done after Exam 2
(centroids, change of variables, Chapter 15). It will also contain some problems from the earlier parts of the course. These latter ones will be chosen from the following topics: basics on vectors; writing equations of lines and planes satisfying certain conditions; basics on curves and motion on a curve, arc length (no need to memorize formulas for curvature, binormal etc.); partial & directional derivatives, gradient, chainrule; tangent planes and normal lines to surfaces; optimization & Lagrange multipliers; set up double or triple integrals, reversing order of integration. Theoretical topics for the final one of these may be an exam question Theorem 11.3.3 (relation between dot product and angle) Theorem 13.6.6 (see the explanation above the Theorem on page 965) Theorem 15.3.1 (fundam. thm. of line integrals) Green's Thm for regions with holes (obtaining formula (7) on page 1126).

Dec. 14 Final exam
122pm, in PG6, room 112 Note the different location for the final!
In this
excel file you can find you score on the final exam (middle
column) and your overall grade for the class (last column). First column contains the first 5 digits of your panther ID (in increasing order).
Happy Holidays!
