GIS/RS info & research funding

There are several professors who teach remote sensing and GIS here at FIU on a regular basis. We all also do research using these techniques. For your reference they are: Dr. Gebelein, Dr. Whitman, Dr. Zhang, Dr. Onsted, Ms. Houle, Dr. Jin, Mr. Daniel Gann, Dr. Ter-Ghazaryan, Dr. Gladwin, and Dr. Melesse.

There are several labs on campus which have GIS and remote sensing software loaded on them and a staff to support them. These can be found here. In order to gain access to this software, hardware and server space to do research and projects you must first be enrolled in a gis/rs class or get the permission and letter of support from a gis/rs professor. You can then submit this request to the GIS lab.

Need funding for your research? Try a few of these resources! Fulbright Program, Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) information,
Financial Aid Page with Links by State, Interesting Search Engine to match you with best aid, and an excellent page for FIU students to use for potential funding sources (grad and undergrad) here.

News

I am proud to announce the publication of my new book titled "A Geographic Perspective of Cuban Landscapes", published by Springer Press. This details the physical landscape changes in Cuba from the time of Columbus until current day. I also describe and discuss environmental laws and policies and how Cuba's myriad of land cover types are protected.
