Description: A study of the basic structure of Euclidean geometry, together with topics from advanced Euclidean geometry and non-Euclidean geometry. Topics to include: Sets of Axioms and Finite Geometries; Geometric Transformations; Convexity; Modern Euclidean Geometry; Non-Euclidea Geometries.

Prerequisite: MAC 2312 (Calculus II) or permission of the instructor.

  • There will be two (2) midterms, worth 100 points each. The dates are February 12 and April 1, 2004
  • Final: A mandatory comprehensive, final exam will carry 150 points. The date and time are R, April 22, 2004, 1530-1815
  • Homeworks: Two (2) homeworks; Dates (may be changed as needed): January 29 and March 4, 2004. Each is worth 25 points.
