Biography:

Wei Wang received her B.S. degree in Mathematics from University of Science and Technology of China in 2004. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University in 2008, under the supervision of Prof. Chi-Wang Shu. She then spent two years at Center for Turbulence Research at Stanford University as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2010, she joined Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Florida International University as an Assistant Professor. She is currently a Full Professor. Here is her CV (pdf).

• Research Interests:
  • High order numerical methods for partial differential equations, especially discontinuous Galerkin method and WENO method.
  • Computational fluid dynamics, reacting flows, turbulence and shock waves.
  • Multiscale discontinuous Galerkin methods for stationary Schrodinger equation.
  • Discontinuous Galerkin methods for electrical impedance tomography.
