Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts

The Communication Arts degree is also an excellent foundational degree for those interested in pursuing advacned degrees in Law, International Business, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Global and Sociocultural Studies, International/Intercultural Education and a host of other programs.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts is composed of three distinctive tracks:

  1. Organizational Communication Studies
  2. Art & Performance Studies
  3. Design Studies

Communication Arts majors choose one specific track to pursue and complete 36 core communication credits plus 24 credits from within the track, for a total of 60 credits to complete the degree.

Employment Opportunity!

Jobs in the field of Communication Arts, such as Communications Director, Campaign Manager or Account Supervisor, are expected to increase 10 percent by 2020 and average earnings in Florida are $97,800.

In addition to the comprehensive coursework, Communication Arts majors gain hands-on experience through:

  • Internships (Students earn credits while working 10 - 15 hours per week.)
  • Service Learning (Students in Public Speaking classes conduct training sessions for community advocates.)
  • Community Engagement (Students engage with community leaders in solving real-world issues.)
