Textbook:
Calculus, Early transcendentals, H. Anton & others, 10th edition.
The university bookstore has FIU versions of the textbook (soft-cover,
binder-ready). As it is only a few dollars more, I would advise you to buy the
full textbook (for Calculus 1, 2 and 3). The single variable part (Chapters 1-10
for just Calculus 1, 2) is also fine, but if you go to Calculus 3 you would need
to buy separately the multivariable part.There are also options depending
whether the text comes with or without an WileyPlus access code.
The WileyPlus is an online homework system. Having an WileyPlus access code,
will provide you, at the very least, with an electronic version of the text
for your tablet, phone, etc.
However, I will not ask you to use WileyPlus for my class, thus not having
it is OK. Some other instructors do require WileyPlus for their sections
(including for Calculus 2 or 3),
and you should be aware that is fairly expensive to buy the access code
separately.
These are the ISBN's for the textbook versions sold in FIU bookstore:
Calculus 1, 2, 3 material (full text) without WileyPlus code: ISBN
9781118738276;
Calculus 1, 2, 3 material (full text) with WileyPlus access code: ISBN
978118738122;
Calculus 1, 2 material (Chapters 1-10) without WileyPlus code: ISBN
978111738115;
Calculus 1, 2 material (Chapters 1-10) with WileyPlus code: ISBN
978111738238;
If you prefer to look for the standard commercial version of the
textbook on Amazon or other sites, the ISBN for the complete book is
9780470647691. This has yellow, hard cover.
