If you are one of my students, and have already tried reading your book, I would recommend these options on the FIU campus.
See me! for my office hours, check my home page or your syllabus
Email Me! I can usually respond within 36 hours on weekdays.
Try the Learning Center in PC 247, appt suggested, 348-2180
Try GC 216, or call 348-2436.
In the Math Dept, try DM 409C or ask me for an update.
Try to join (or form) a study group with your classmates
One or two books are usually on reserve - the Student Guide (HW Hints), and a book on proofs. You can also buy a basic, but good, paperback - "How to Prove It", by Velleman, at local bookstores.
The College of Education has run a successful study group for this class several times and will probably do so again this term (I write this on 8/27/06). I usually give a point of extra credit for those who attend regularly. The director explains -
Membership to the study group requires
commitment and regular attendance until the end of the
semester and students can not just "drop by."
