Field Trips

Each semester I try to take students on field trips to places like the Everglades National Park, one of Miami-Dade County’s wastewater treatment plants, and Miami-Dade County’s Resources Recovery Facility in Doral where more than half the county’s municipal solid waste is processed into refuse-derived fuel (RDF) which is burned to reduce waste volume by more than 90% and generate electricity for about 40,000 households.
