Adult Cottonmouth -- Big Cypress Preserve
POISONOUS!!!
One of the more common snakes in the Big Cypress this fellow is expressing his "gratitude" for having been
removed from the road surface with a tripod leg.

Me and A Cottonmouth which wanted to be Road Pizza -- Photo Taken By Fritz Poelking
POISONOUS!!!
There was no suitable stick with which to handle this animal and it was a bit too small for the tripod leg method so I went ahead and hand-removed him using a stick as a pinning device. While he was being removed we thought that a photo might be sort of nice; after all how often do you have the chance to have your picture taken by a world famous wildlife photographer?
WARNING
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HANDLE POISONOUS SNAKES -- I HAVE 20+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, DO YOU?
