PREREQUISITE: Introduction to Analysis (Grade C or better)

A student who does not have a good working knowledge of Introduction
to Analysis has little chance of succeeding in this course

TEXTBOOK:  Introduction to Analysis by Edward Gaughan

             Ch. 3 - Sec. 4
             Ch. 4 - Sec. 1,2,3,4*
             Ch. 5 - Sec. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7*
             Ch. 6 - Sec. 1,2,3,4,5
             Ch. 7 - Sec. 1,2,3*

EXAM POLICY:

1.  For each test or exam you will be required to bring your STUDENT ID and a BLUE EXAM BOOKLET (SIZE: 8"x11" - available in F.I.U. bookstore).

2. No make-up test will be given unless there is a legitimate, verifiable case of illness or emergency. Officially sanctioned religious holidays will be accommodated provided the instructor is notified at least 2 weeks in advance.

SCHEDULE OF EXAMS:
     Test #1    (25%) :  THURSDAY,  Feb.  19th,  1240 - 1355
     Test #2    (25%) :  THURSDAY,  Apr.   2nd,  1240 - 1355
     Projects   (10%) :  To be announced in class
     Final Exam (40%) :  TUESDAY,   Apr.  21st,  1240 - 1510
        The final exam will be comprehensive.

GRADING SCHEME:  The grades will be assigned as indicated below.
