Consequently, the course grade now will be based on 500 points total possible instead of 600. This constitutes an official change to the Syllabus/Game Rules. Tues. 20 Sep 2005 d.l.r. Note: The Game Rules Update from the Rita update still applies. Mon. 31 Oct 2005 d.l.r. Warning: With the exception of Section 1.8, Chapter 1 mostly should be review. If it is not, you are in the wrong place. Even if you think that you are familiar with the material there, you should read the sections assigned so that you have in hand the precise terminology used in the text. Among many other things, the definition of function found there and the definitions of the trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions, their graphs, special values, and identities, are things for which you will be held accountable. Did I mention your friendly exponential and logarithmic functions?? Add them into the mix, too. And do the "reading ahead"!! [Some of the trigonometric noise lives in an appendix of the text.] dlr
