Warning:     With the exception of Section 1.8, Chapter 1 mostly should
be review.  If it is not, you are in the wrong place.  Even if you think
that you are familiar with the material there, you should read the
sections assigned so that you have in hand the precise terminology  used
in the text.  Among many other things, the definition of function
found there and the definitions of the trigonometric and inverse
trigonometric functions,  their graphs, special values,  and identities,
are things for which you will be held accountable.  Did I mention your
friendly exponential and logarithmic functions??  Add them into the mix,
too.  And do the "reading ahead"!!  [Some of the trigonometric noise lives
