Folks,
(a) The official Calculus Exam Schedule for the Calculus Sequence
has finally arrived from Space and Scheduling. Consequently, the Final
Exam Information page is now complete for the term and up-to-date.
Observe that you must bring a photo ID to the Final Exam. The office
hours during exam week are there mainly to return the third test.
(b) Survival, that is getting one's head above "C" level, is
possible. Here is the usual spring fever gift:
Your course grade will be the maximum of the Final Exam Score as a
percentage and the Final Total as a percentage.
This means that, in principle, if you ace the final, you get an "A" in the
course despite earlier rough spots. [This occasionally irritates the
dickens out of some folks.] Be advised, though, staying up all night
just before the final exam cramming will not work. As you must know by
now, your bio-computer must be running well on game day. Sleep
deprivation is a no-no. Mathematics is learned bit-by-bit,
day-by-day. Good luck.

Folks,
The first thing you need to do is to go to your class's page and
click on the Essential Handouts link. The three items on that page
need to be printed or down-loaded for convenient viewing. Read each
carefully. Then go to the FAQ page as questions arise. This
should take care of many of the routine queries that arise at the
beginning of the term. Explore the site further to your heart's
content. If you have additional questions, you may ask in person, by
phoning, or via e-mail. Be advised that I do not reply to unsigned
e-mails except to say that I do not respond to unsigned e-mails. If you
e-mail me, kindly identify yourself and your class unambiguously.
Onward. d.l.r.
