Textbooks: The course material will come from several books;
however the books: Mathematical Programming for Economics and Business,
by Pfaffenberger and Walker,QA402.5 P46 and Introduction to Operations Research, by Hillier and Lieberman, Q175. H47
may serve as guides. Those books are on reserve
at the Green Library for you to consult. The material to be covered
includes:
linear programming(modeling, graphical method, duality method, simplex
method, integer programming, some nonlinear programing), nonlinear
programming(convex functions and
sets, quadratic programming, convex programming). But before starting
with the stated material, you will be refreshed on some calculus
elements that will be useful later on.
