Prerequisites: General Biology I and II, Organic Chemistry I

 

Course Objectives: To use a comparative approach to understand how physiological processes in groups of unrelated animals have evolved to cope with similar environmental challenges. 

Required Text: Animal Physiology, Hill, Wyse and Anderson,  4th editions. Sinauer Associates, MA. (2004, 2008 or 2012). They are all OK.

  There will be a total of 100 combined earnable points. 
-    30 points will come from Quizzes.
-    10 points will come from a paper presentation.
-    30 points will come from a Midterm exam.
-    30 points will come from a Final exam.

 

 

Tests and Final exam:  they will consist of written answers to questions (essays).  ALL the tests are CLOSED BOOK

 

 

Numeric Grade Equivalents:

A = 90% - 100% (A- = 89)

B = 80% - 87%   (B+= 88) (B- =79)

C = 70% - 77%   (C+ = 78)(C- = 69)

D = 60% - 67%  (D+= 68)

F = Below  60%
