There are no panthersoft imposed prerequisite for this course. However, it is strongly recommended that you have successfully completed or are currently enrolled in a Calculus I (MAC 2311) course or its equivalent. That course does have prerequisites: both Precalculus and Trigonometry (MAC 1147 or MAC 1140 and MAC 1140) which are important precursors to this course. Please do not attempt to take this course if you are not mathematically prepared. If you have not successfully completed the aforementioned pre-calc and trig courses you will find this course a significant struggle.
Also, you will need access to a computer either a PC or Mac. A tablet running IOS or Android will likely work as well. All homework and 15% of your grade will only come to you via the online MasteringPhysics HW system which as web-based thus the requirement to have access to some kind of computer somewhere.
Finally I will be communicating to you via email, I know its somewhat old fashioned but its the easiest way for me to broadcast messages to you all. So look at your FIU email account on occasion for messages from me. I might experiment with social media this semester. If so I will let the class know during lecture and via email.
