FIU Students can live in Paris for a month, while completing an Honors Upper Division course requirement. Hike through the Alps, visit the beaches of Normandy, and wander through Paris’ student-friendly Latin Quarter. Engage in debates about the struggle for human rights in the country that saw the most radical and idealistic revolution in Europe. This is a class of living history and culture; lectures are held on the actual sites of the events being studied.
The Honors College France Study Abroad program is the only FIU program that offers an extended stay in Paris. Each student will have an individual dorm room in Paris from July 1 to July 30. In addition to the French capital, students will visit the Loire castles, Versailles, Lyon, Annecy, the Alps, Bayeux, the Normandy Beaches, and Mont Saint-Michel. I am French, lived in Paris for three years, and cherish the opportunity to share my insider knowledge of France with FIU students.
The cost of the 2013 France program is $3,660, a price reduction of $290 from 2012. This includes ground transportation, housing accommodations, and admission to required museums and sites. A deposit of $1,660 is due with the application. The program cost does not include airfare, meals, instructional fees for 6 credits ($201.66 per credit), and the $175 non-refundable Study Abroad Fee.
Many students remember study abroad as their best experience from their college career. Make it yours.
